Jungjungdong : 靜中動, The Aesthetics of Stillness in Motion

The collaboration between Atelier de LUMEN and metal artist Yeodong Yun
begins with the aesthetics of ‘Jungjungdong (靜中動)’ — the artist’s guiding philosophy.
Metal objects that hold movement within stillness meet LUMEN,
adding a quiet shimmer and a distinct sensibility to the everyday.

The delicate beauty born of trembling takes form as both object and work of art,
lending a new sense of harmony to each daily moment.

About the Artist
Yeodong Yun studied design at the Saint-Étienne School of Art and Design in France
and metal craft at Seoul National University.
Working metal through varied processes of shaping and forming,
he explores contrasting textures and forms to create objects of quiet beauty.
Believing that art gains its deepest meaning when used in daily life,
he works across a wide range — from functional vessels to objects and installations —
steadily expanding a metal world of his own.

His practice is described by the philosophy of ‘Jungjungdong (靜中動)’.
Capturing the subtle tremors and movements latent in stillness,
he has built a body of work grounded in ‘trembling’,
inspired by the sculptural beauty of Silla gold crowns.

This approach serves as a metaphor for life within passing time.
Recognized with the 2021 Red Dot Award, his work continues through collaborations
with various brands and exhibitions in Korea and abroad.
